vdimm for 8k3a+ vs 8rda

has anyone found they need less vdimm for the 8rda+ compared to their previous boards?.

my current board will not run sammy pc2700 with less than 3.1 vdimm for best fsb speeds,

and my ocz3500 will not even boot @200 fsb speeds  unless it has 2.8 vdimm? but have got into win xp-pro with 220 fsb speeds @ 3.2volts .

as 8rda+  runs 2.9 volts max is it likely to want the same vdimm for the ram as the 8k3a+ because if it does I have to wait until I have sold my current rig .

or is this just a problem with the mobo perhaps?.
