Fan on NB

Would sticking a fan on my NB help me reach a higher FSB?
Using 8RDA which has passive cooling

IF so which fan?

Neither, use a proper heatsink not a flat bit of metal

Yea I got the same thing, and it works pretty well. One thing that I liked about it was that I got the 2 extra heatsinks with the chipset cooler. It gives you some options to work with if you are in need of another heatsink somewhere. I would recommend putting some Artic Silver on your Northbridge though instead of that thermal paste they provide. I have seen lots of people say they got an extra 3 or 4 FSB from just putting AS on their NB instead of going with whatever thermal paste they had. You might even wanna put the larger of the spare heatsinks on the Southbridge if its getting real hot. Also, I thought the 8RDA had a PCI lock, so the Southbridge I would think wouldn't get that hot (since it controls all your PCI devices ). Well, in any case if it is really hot as you describe, it wouldnt hurt to put something on there to keep it cool.
