asus a7v133 and a burnt athlon

ok, so, i burnt out my athlon, hahaha...
anywayz, it occured during the post of the bios. it was reading the amount of ram i had, and in the middle of during this, the hole system frooze up. i quikly turned the system off, and tryed it agian, nothing at boot up this time.
so, would my mobo be busted, along with all the hardware i had installed, such as my geforce and game theater, or would they be fine?

Sorry to hear about your Problems.

Are you sure the chip is dead and not something else.

If the chip is dead then you might have damaged other components depending on how you killed it.

If you crushed the core fitting your heatsink then your less likely to have hurt anything else.

If your chip overheated and burnt out, then you might have damaged your motherboard socket.

Its unlikely that you damaged your AGPor PCI cards or anything else unless the fault was a short circuit, water damage or a particulaly nasty PSU faliure.

Overall id say that it is unlikely that anything else has been damaged but unfortunately not impossible.

The only sure fire way will be to fit another chip and cross your fingers.
