By and large, quite the case, however, I confess the occasional bafflement! Still, even if all were pristine, dis-clarity would still occur ! ?Wie viele Semester der deutschen hast du?

A heart can still be found under the layers of care and woe. I spoke rudimentary German many years go. Without practice it slowly left the stable.

Speaking of "running" (as a segue ), think much about the current economy and next election? Check this out:

Very interesting, thanks for the link. I may be wrong yet I think that the two American political parties merged after 1980. Both pay lip service to the wants and needs of the people, yet neither listens or cares about The People. The people are too poor to register on their view screens. Wealth and power have slipped from ordinary hands, they are now concentrated in the hands of the few. The mighty and the cruel.
It'd be wonderful to be wrong about this but I no longer hold much hope for the future. Frankly, I'm glad that I'm an old phart. Hopefully I'll die before the camps really get a good start on chewing up the unfortunate.

Wow, you can't see any difference? That's a real shame -- your funk is way worse than mine !

Sure, both parties have flaws, both are made up of human beings and those are flawed critters. Sure, both parties contain complete morons. Two prime Democrat examples are the idiot NY ex-Senator Weiner and San Diego ex-Mayor Filner, however, the Repubs offer easily more examples of stupid politicians, and plenty of those who are at best mean-spirited. Yes, both parties are flawed, but they are definitely not equivalent.

Maybe you're right, but surely you can't find a "Democratic Party" bone anywhere in our President?

Sorry you feel that way. I've been watching the political scene since Clinton (yeah, I know, late to the party), especially "W" and more especially Obama. I personally see no support for your thesis -- what I have seen is a man attempting again and again to coax Congressional Republicans (House and Senate) to engage in constructive government. Even ideas originating from them are immediately rejected when taken up by him. What they've been doing thus far has little to do with governance, little to do with the welfare of either country or people, and everything to do with obstruction and partisan politics. The just exited shutdown is merely the latest example.

How many Republican filibusters have been mounted in the Senate compared to previous administrations?
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...f0RU_blog.html

Since 2010 election, how many votes to repeal the AHCA in the House compared to genuine jobs bills?
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/0...n_3695871.html
http://crooksandliars.com/karoli/gop...bs-bills-bogus

If elected officials aren't willing to genuinely engage in governing rather than posturing and grandstanding, what can be done? It seems to me the Republican intransigence towards anything they associate with Obama is unique in American history. It's not clear there's anything at all he's either said or done that would explain it -- only conclusion I can reach is it's because he's Obama.

As previously typed my opinion may be wrong. Yet careful review of his actions reveal a President by, for, and with the anti-human barons of Wall Street. Where the Republicans come up with pointing at him and saying "Socialist" is a great mystery.

Recognizing that no President has the ability to create laws, that requires Congress, what are the problems you see? I'm acknowledging the banks are now even more "too big to be allowed to fail" than they were in 2008. But "Dodd-Frank" came out of Congress (including its remarkable complexity) and just as with the CFPB, Congress has its feet on their throats and thereby, their ability to pursue their charter.

There'll always be a dance between the parties and the sources of funds, obvious reason being lack of funds doesn't make elections won. There can be no absolute purists if the goal is effective government, that's a large part of the Tea Party problem, though their goal may well be no government at all (except for, of course, where they individually benefit -- hypocrisy is alive and well in the Tea Party).

I urge committed anti-government people to move to Somalia. No laws at all to hamper your wished for "freedom." I wish they would leave Congress, as you say they are obstructing everything the Dems want.

Not that there's anything inherently amiss with having a different vision from the Democrats, but by most rational measures, the Republican Party is deeply disconnected from mainstream America. Their response to this is not to adjust their course to better appeal to a larger segment of the population, but rather to take concrete steps to reduce the likelihood of likely Democrat voters having the opportunity to vote. What has that got to do with America?

Fact is, the Democrats are today the greatest advocates for the welfare of both populace and country. Hopefully, someday, the Republicans will again become serious contenders, but nothing currently points that way. Anytime the only way a particular Party can win is to obstruct segments of the populace from voting, you know that Party is morally, intellectually, and ideologically bankrupt.

Just read a sperm doner is being sued thousands of dollars child support for a child conceived by a same sex couple that split up! What!!?? Just how f'd up is this worthless society of ours? What was that "joke" about lawyers in a bus driving over a cliff? Somehow, hard to see how it's just a joke, or maybe it's the court system that's gone over (Supreme Court included -- "Citizens United" and the landmark Civil Rights gut)!

Perhaps I misread? http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013...d-support?lite

Isn't that honorable and wonderful? Never plan to donate little swimmers to anyone. The male half of my family is defective, while the women are OK. The name dies with me. Proud to be a non-breeder.

A drag dude, but knowledge is better than ignorance.

Read that Neil Young shacked up with an actress for a few years, a relationship that supposedly heavily influenced the 1972 "Harvest" album. He fathered a child with her who turned out to have cerebral palsy. After they split, he got married (1977) and again had a child with cerebral palsy. The actress sued him (1983) and was awarded $10K a month support plus up to $300K for the purchase of a home for her and the child.

It's sad that a magnificent musical talent like Neil Young can't produce "~normal" offspring. Hate to lose "his" voice when he passes on. The court's judgment seems fair to me as well.

10k per month is an easy figure, for my imaginary social circle.
