| Just for a moment, let's posit that there is no afterlife. AFAIK, not one person died then came back to tell us about what lies beyond the final curtain in the form of a "spirit." People who were declared dead, yet came to their senses after what seemed a long time don't count--they came back. No insult intended to anyone's religious beliefs, and the concept of an afterlife grows more attractive as one gets older. When I realize the unbounded evil that powerful people do to the rest of us every day I scream silently for justice. But very many completely evil people are never called to account for the misery they heap on the 'little people.' If there's no justice to be had on Earth, and none levied by a deity after death...
