63F now and looking at a high of 82F, with scattered lightning and showers. Hoping that this lightning won't start too many wildfires. It's ALWAYS something!

No reason to get excited said the joker to the thief. All is peace and light. Except the vandals took the handles of the pump. My brother used to address a GF as "Pumpee." Did she enjoy that? Not as far as I could tell.

Eenie meanie miny moe, catch a fantastic stupendous AOA Forums case badge by the toe. What's not to like? They are as free as the wind, do they really call the wind Jumbalaya? Probably not since New Orleans was done in. I sincerely hope that all of our American Members sent as least a little money to help. Giving is good for the soul, honest and truly.

"Never more" quoth the raven. How do you tell a crow from a raven? I don't know if I've ever seen a raven, tbh. Crows are very intelligent as birds go. Wish I was! Was what, a crow or a raven? Being able to fly would be great, but crows are nest robbers. They also make un-Earthly noises. Who's to know, crow or raven? Elucidation greatly appreciated!

Carlos Casteneda. Hard to tell when and if he was pulling your leg. Learned opinion asserts that his books about a Yaqui sorcerer were pure fabrication. If so, he was a very entertaining writer!

And there was T. Lobsang Rampa. Great controversy surrounds his writings yet they are fascinating, that's not argued. Nice to be ahead of the pack, at least sometimes.

Haven't heard from T. Lobsang Rampa before. Do a little research and I want more. Buy "The Third Eye" @ amazon. Thanks for the tip.

PS Do you feel lonely in this thread?

The Third Eye reveals much about life and Tibetan Buddhism. I read it many years ago and enjoyed it. I hope you find it as fascinating as I did.
PS Did you order it in Spanish? None of my business, really. No need to answer!
PPS Yes, it's a bit strange to talk to myself in this thread. But I'm a bit strange so it's not a real problem!

Never have figured out what to think of Carlos, other than he lives in a very different and far more interesting world than my own...poor man...

I order "The Third Eye" in English and I don't mind the question, specially coming from you.

The only book that read from Mr. Cataneda is "La Vida en Rojo", literally "Live in Red". Is a biography of the Che Guevara, and I pointed out "a" and not "the" biography as other authors try to describe their work. I find it extraordinary that a man like him live in modern times. Don't know if it was translated to English thou.

Mr Castaneda left us a few years ago. Perhaps the old saw about the good moving on before the rest of us is true. I didn't know that he wrote a biography of Che. I'd find out if it was available in English, if it wouldn't go into my permanent personal file. !Viva el presidente for life! My Spanish is far too elementary.

I read Carlos in my very early 20's. Wasn't aware he had passed. If he had a "Source" he certainly elaborated as there is no real correspondence one to one between his writings and the Yakis believe system,(What's left of it... hence the complaints of scholars... ) That said, I can't think of another any thing like him. A unique and positive attempt to understand our world and to portray it in a manner that leaves her mystery and power intact.

R.I.P Carlos, you enriched my life and made me Wonder about everything I thought I knew... an invaluable gift!

Even though his writing of "the Yaqui way" is dismissed, probably correctly, as fantasy, it still made great reading. One of my faves was that fitting his own head into crow's head was too tight for comfort. Also, don't think I've ever found my "power spot." Except for once many years before reading Castaneda's works.
