Has Hector Ruiz been fired, yet? If not, WHY? I hope he'll exit with a platinum parachute. That will "help keep the stock up." Why not a rhodium parachute? Good lord that stuff is expensive, it'll help AMD's bottom line!

Does the name "condor" enoble the giant vultures of the Andes? Oh well, they perform a valuable service no need to quibble about the name. The Andes are extremely impressive mountains, sometimes you shiver from simply seeing a pic of those harsh teeth.

There was this high ranking guy in the Catholic church who was informed that he'd been elected Pope. The pure evil gloating exhibited on his face at that moment was ugly to behold. I'd rather have the Dalai Lama over for tea any day of the week.

The dollar gained a quarter of one cent yesterday and the oil price dropped a couple bucks. Happy days are here again! The Canadian dollar has retreated to $1.05 vs the US one. Yet the Swiss Franc hangs tough at 88 cents. It was stuck at 82 cents for years. Rather staid currency, you might say. Not that the Swiss tend to be smug, oh no!
What does it all mean? Gold was down to ~$793 yesterday. If it's below $800 per Troy ounce, I suggest buying some. It's noodling up to $800 right now. You say that amount of money isn't easy to come by? Too true.

Home delivery of the New York Times. Not for me, thanks. Let more trees live! But we plant fast growing trees, we don't destroy forests. Uh, sure. Paul Krugman is the rag's saving grace. Can read him on the Web, no paper required. Who gives a flying hoot? Can I say that's just a rhetorical Q? No. Argh!

Only some big oaks are still holding on to a few of their leaves in the neighborhood. It was a glorious autumn in the colorful leaves dept. around here. Kinda weird that winter doesn't start until a few days before Christmas--and it's called a mid-winter festival? How's your seasonal shopping for gifts going? Mine is still before me. Thank you, Dan. It's no longer a holiday, I guess that means I should be busy. OK, b-but it's just one bridge day between holiday and weekend. Party hearty. No longer, did plenty of that in the old days. Miss it on occasion, naah, not all that much! Taking care of business, at least in the painful paying of bills department.

Shipshape and Bristol fashion. Where did that one come from? Glad you asked! In the days of sailing ships it was common to become stuck on the mud during the approach to Bristol's harbor. The steep sides of the channel guaranteed that during the time spent aground, the ships heeled over rather severely. When gear aboard was lashed firmly in place, the crew didn't spend time dodging rolling cannons and sliding cargo.

It snowed here yesterday. On December first, that's proper. Big flakes and lots of them that stuck to the ground. It was 34F, I don't understand why. It rained much of the night and still is, yet snow clings stubbornly to the grass and cars. I swear that I'm not clinging to our muy bueno case badges. PM me!
