One tenth of an ounce of gold costs $175? Is gold that expensive or has the dollar shrunken that much?

Thanks to the sleight of hand of creating the "Federal Reserve" which is a coalition of private bankers that lend our own money to us at interest what's left of the 1913 dollar is smaller than a postage stamp.

The slothful pig returns from a lapse of better judgement, or something like that. My faithful home built AMD machine died, and I bought the second pre-built box ever. Good to be back!

It's even better to see you on the board, Dan! I bought a Lenovo 3 Ghz i5 12 Gb RAM, 2 Thz HDD box. It does 3.4 Ghz on "turbo," but I haven't bothered with it. What gets me is that the PSU and chassis fans can run, but never do. Weird.
I could have rolled my own, but would have paid at least 50 extra bucks to do so. Of course my selected components would have been better quality but I was lazy and in a hurry. Can only go so long without the web!

Tee hee, my "slippers" are six year old Uggs, the short ones. Now that I've stopped smoking maybe my feet will be warmer come winter. We have had a very cool summer, I assume we'll see some 90F+ days to come?

Yes, 64-bit Win7 came pre-installed. Silly me, I bought the version on disk to go, knowing that it's easier to just go ahead and wipe all the tons of crud that come with new store bought computers and install your own OS. Shockingly there was no ad-ware or superfluous software of any kind on the machine. Not one byte or bit. I know, I'm still in shock too!

78 MS updates so far. Perhaps buying an up to date version of Win7 wasn't worth it?

I loaded SETI@home to find out if the fans run at 100% CPU use and 90F. They do, yay. But not like the hurricanes of yesteryear, sigh. Stopping and removing SETI@home was very difficult, it took about one hour of frustration. I can't recommend the program as a proc heater. Linux isn't slow, and can I have a Chrisbard case badge, please?

No Chrisbard case badge? Don't tell me they're spurious? That's OK, the moon I wasn't expecting.

What, no government for Mars? Yet. That's awful! Martians must feel terribly lonely and un-regimented.

Notice how the photo isn't quite good enough for International Classification and Correlation? You know, blood type, credit rating, iris ID, criminal record or lack thereof, security pigeonhole, does or doesn't pay taxes with a smile? Like that there.
Perhaps we could posit that momma didn't raise no dummy?

New keyboard is a short stroke affair with one important feature missing. A large, backward "L" shaped "Enter" key. This makes improper typing technique more difficult. Progress?
