Too bad that one of China's rough on people periods was named "The Great Leap Forward." iirc.

Then again the War of the Roses was no fun, either.

That's exactly what I pray for everyday... A change in the hearts of men. A change that would make doing the good just a bit more instinctive to us....

iYogi computer service is something that advanced PC users can do without. Personally, I'd avoid them.

Their slogan is "good karma." And the same to you, one and all.

Think I have a pretty good handle on "karma." But what about "dharma?" Elucidation welcome.

dharma enumerates the law of Karma on the most basic level. However it is also the compilation of Buddhist texts, teachings, prayers and chants as well the history of Buddism.

Buddist usually dived all this into the dharma, the teachings or the law. the Sanga, the followers of the teachings or the law and the monastic practices which are the backbone, the hard core, in Buddhism you practice or your a dilettante.":O}

Thanks Dan. So "The Dharma Bums" was stretching far from "dharma-ville?" Dilettante Chocolates, are they still extant? Talk about expensive!

Does the absence of the Mayan civilization automatically negate the end of their calendar in 2012?

As are most of us, I trust. I never thought I'd see 2000, but I've gotten used to the number and would like it to go on.

"2013" is an odd number, yet welcome all the same!

It is the presence of absence that worries me!

According to Gary Jennings, a novelist that may have known a lot of history about the area, the Mayans thought that being cross-eyed was da bomb in fashion. Weird if true.

I spread this gem of information whenever I Can...

If you look at a modern calender you will find that, after a period of time...it completes, after it's duration.

This does not signify the end of the world or the end of Time... It simply means it's time to buy a new calender.

The Mayan calender STARTS OVER, it does not end in 2012.

Glad you looked into this Dan, thank you! Aw shucks, you mean I'll have to buy a 2013 calendar? Oh, the expense!
