Question 1900XP Palomino unlocking

Hi,..
have been trying to find a way to unlock this XP1900+ Palomino via the wire method, but I can't find anything about this anywhere.
All the wire methods I have read are for unlocking the Tbred cored chips.
Anyone know how to unlock the palomino using the wire method..??
Any links to images / pinout diagrams would be most appreciated..
Thanks guys

GG

I suppose it's possible to unlock a Palomino's L1 bridges from the underside using wires but I've never heard of anyone doing so.

Yeah, it's gotta be possible somehow, though I can't find any refernce to it anywhere....All the reviews that I've read just deal with Tbred core chips.

That's just it...I don't think you will find a means of unlocking that Palomino other than the normal way...

...Which means using a (L1 Bridge) gap filler and conductive grease/paint.

Damn,..i got the world's shakiest hands
I have however come across this guide, but have no idea if it's in any way correct. Anyone think this would really work ? (I mean, does it look right to anyone??)

http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/ht...md_pinmod.html

I'd give it a go, but as I dont know anything about the bridges etc...

Thanks for any input..

The interactive guides at OC Inside are good for discerning what bridges and traces to alter if you want to hard-mod a CPU to a designated default voltage or multiplier.

For just doing the basic unlock on a Palomino, you just need to close the 5 traces that make up the L1 bridge.

There are several guides on how to do this on the web. One of the better ones can be read here.

Having done of few of these myself, I'd personally recommend as much visual magnification as you can get. (I did mine under a dissection microscope).

I like the using a gap filler that hardens and isn't affected by solvent. I used a very unviscous "krazy" type glue.

For closing the traces I prefer using CircuitWorks silver conductive grease instead of auto rear defroster grid repair paint since it can be easily wiped off if a mistake is made. The only caveat is that it never dries and is susceptible to getting messed up if you accidentally touch it.

Good Luck.
