| K6-2's are poor overclockers. 50 to 100 MHz is generally the best you can do. They will fold, but expect it to take about a week to complete a protein. Raising the voltage, and taking the cap off of the CPU and using a cheapo Socket A cooler will allow you to get the most out of it. But that can add up to a lot of work for very little benefit. Unless you enjoy fooling with that sort of thing.

| Well tbh it isnt gonna b used in the future anyway so i thght id have a go at seeing wot i can get out of it. I have the original cpu cooler that my 2400+ came with so im gonna use tht if there are no obstructions from the mobo. Scuse my ignorance but wot do u mean by "taking the cap off the cpu?"

| taking the Integrated heatspreader off the processor. then the die will be exposed and you will have better heat transfer between the die and the HSF

| not too tough. find a tutorial where someone is taking the IHS (integrated heat spreader) off a p4 chip. it should be very similar to that.

| I had a 450 what would ONLY DO 500 and ONLY AFTER I added a pelt to it. If you don't use it that much it would probalby be safe to just overclock it to 550 and set it up to fold and leave it in the corner to fold. I'd leave the side cover off, those suckers were KNOWN too put off some heat!!! $.02 Rob

| You should make keychains out of the processors and use the rest of the hardware for something worth folding with ![]()
