Do Bartons run hotter than T-bred's at the same speed

Do Bartons run hotter than T-bred's at the same speed and vcore?

Thanks in advance

I do not have an answer for you, but it is an interesting question. I would guess that a Barton should run cooler than a Tbred @ the same voltage and mhz, due to it's larger surface area (thermal transfer area).

At the same speed and voltage as my Tbred, they were about the same...

It really depends on what specific 2500+ and specific Tbred are compared.

Here are notes from three processors, all at 200 X 11 = 2200Mhz in sig system:
AQXEA XP2500+: 1.8Vcore, 37C idle, 43C load.
DUTC XP1700+: 1.85Vcore, 40C idle, 45C load.
DLT3C XP1700+: 1.55Vcore, 36C idle, 38C load.

All Prime95-stable.

Hope this helps!

Asking becuase I am thinking of getting a Barton... but really don't have the equipment to counter higher temps.

i would say yes - but mainly because they need more voltage to get to the same speeds.

Actually I had a couple of 2500+ that ran cooler than my 1700+ DLT even with more voltage,

hmmm thats certainly weird cos everyone i know who has a barton finds it much harder to cool. ie 2.6ghz DLT @ 50C..... 2.4ghz barton at 50C and the voltage jump the same....

remember if a barton is running at 1.8v and a dlt is running at 1.8v your putting an extra .3v through the dlt......but only .15 extra through the barton
