Amd Duron 1.4 And Jetway V266b

Hi all

Justa quick question. I have a AMD duron 1.4 and jetway v266b. When I installed it the initial screen says unknown cpu 1050mhz.

How do i get it running at 1400mhz? And why is the board nor recognizing the cpu type. This is bog standard with no multipliers and FSB at 100mhz. When i change fsb to 133 (via jumper) it says that it is a 1600+.

The cpu is sitting at approx 55-60.

Any help would be appreciated

Hiya DJ_JON, welcome to AOA

It looks like the BIOS is recognising the duron as an XP1600+ which also runs at 1400 MHz. A bios update might help but unless it really bothers you not worth the hassle.

Just to check what it's running at you could download WCPUID from AOA files.

Isn't that the AMD Applebred Duron? IIRC 1600+ Applebred runs at 1400mhz so maybe your bios is recognizing it correctly.

Btw, the Applebred duron overclocks nicely.

Hi,is your Duron 1.4 the old Morgan chip,or the new Applebred Duron?The old one had the 200mhz fsb,but the new one has a fsb of 266mhz+unlocked multipliers.
