Micro ATX AMD Board

does anyone know of such a board that will run a 700MHZ Athlon. I "screw-driver'd" the old board because of tiny screwdriver points on the heatsink clip.
i would like to get this rig folding, maybe OC it a bit.

So, are you looking for a Slot A mainboard? Were the 700 Mhz Athlons called "Firebirds?" Sorry, it's been a while.

Edit. I found one Abit and one MSI Slot A mainboard at www.shopping.com .

Oops, neither of these is Micro-ATX Form Factor.

no no, not slot, socket, the processor plugs into a socket.

let me emphasize: --- no slot---

i believ the core is still called thunderbird, just a very slow thunderbird

Hey if you like you can get one at the Promona computer show. I go there all the time. They should have something that would work for ya.

Are you running SDR or DDR Ram?

You looking for a KT133A based mATX with an AGP slot or with onboard graphics?

i folded all last night. once i get this new rig set up, it will hopefully be working 24/7
for some reason, the folding time per set of frames had increased from 3 min per set to about 8 min. any idea on what might cause this?

_____

now that ive compared prices between sdr and ddr, ill go with ddr, its less expensive than ddr nowadays. onboard probably, unless an 8MB S3 Card is better

That seems to happen with me as well. Only thing I can think of is start the computer open up folding (or just put it in the start menu like I do) and DON'T TOUCH IT!!!

the problem is that this is my main computer, i use it for things other than folding. i need those cpu cycles for intense games like Battlefield 1942.
________

how do i get it to get back to 3 min per set?
should i turn off the computer for an hour or two.

turing it off for an hour or two didnt help. perhaps something changed within the core?
maybe i can delete the core and have it redownload it?

i know this is kinda late but... shuttle has a good reputation with microatx boards.... though they basically have nil overclocking options

Hi.

Is the MSI KM2M Combo-L any good?
This is my other choice other than the ECS K75SA Pro.

Thanks

the XP 1800 problem would have been you not setting the fsb to 133mhz.

11.5x 100 = 1.15ghz
11.5x 133 - 1.53ghz (xp 1800)

the Chaintech 7nil1 is a great nf2-400u board for under $60, and will run on a 200w PSU ,but has limited overclocking options.
