| Try setting your CPU back to defaults and see if the machine is still unstable. If you still get the crashes, I'd try a different video card.

| I haven't tried to run an 8x agp, but this does sound similar to a device driver problem that I had (one of many). First I would suggest setting your mobo back to the stock speeds while attempting to get the upgrade/update/fix running. You don't want to have too many things happening that can have a negative effect. Get into the hardware manager and delete the device, reboot and let the system re-find the device, and then install the drivers. Just a suggestion.............. Thanks,

I know you have already tried all software updates such as motherboard chipset driver, AGP driver, Video card driver, control panels, etc and didn't work. I know you enabled it in BIOS and tried different video settings in the BIOS like I told you to and still didnt' work.. You also did say your GF3 card cannot do 4X AGP, but you can do 2X i take it.. There are two factors: 1). Both your GF3 and Radeon9600 cards are unable to run 4X(for GF3), 8X(for r9600). Meaning your cards are dud or defect. OR, 2). There is "Circuit Devil" monster running around in your house. It goes after every one of your computer systems and make it hiccup when enable 8X.. There is noting you can do about it. Give it up.. Screw that AGP 8X. Just run it at 4X. There isn't much of performance difference between 4X & 8X. I used to beat the CRAP out of systems running at 4x when mine was at 2x with my bad azz AGP bus frequency overclocking and FSBs... I totally mopped the floor with it.. Overclock and tweak rest of the system. Forget AGP 8X.

If you are running 11-29 BIOS: - Set your CPU interface to "Aggressive". It is in the memory option menu in the BIOS. - This bios already has "Command Per Clock" setting in the memory option as well. So you are good to go. If you are not experiencing stability problem at 218FSB, then you are good for now. The performance should be very good. If you are on newer BIOS version, you will have option to enable or disable the CPC(Command Per Clock) and I suggest you enable it. This will put more strain on the memory. Some memory handle it well while some others don't.

| I know the circuit devil, it is called DFI. Sorry if it offends the DFI lovers out there but I have gone through 1 Lanparty Ultra B and four(4) NFII Ultra Infinities and had problems with all boards from bios issues to not booting half the time. While I do admit that the DFI boards OC better than my AN7 (I can only hit 220 FSB with this AN7 but hit 440 with the Ultra Infinity) the issues with the boards weren't worth the extra bandwidth.

I was referring to the circuit devil, not the "board" itself. DFI boards do not have issue running 8X AGP interface. I haven't heard people having this problems in the other forums I go to. As for the booting issue, BIOS version 4-29 or newer has fixed many of their DFI Infinity/LP b boards. Still, not "All", but many of their boards have been fixed by it. Tip: If you say you don't want to offend people, then don't say it to begin with. It works better that way. ![]() Besides.. you "suppose" to have problem with the booting with DFI boards. it is not normal if it boots on you steadily. Randomly not booting is normal... I would be laughing if the DFI boards always boot. I have no problem with it, so is some other overclockers. I wrote an article about this board for the Aoaforum site over 2 months ago. I explained about the problems and what this board is good for. These boards aren't made for the "general publics", those who don't overclock hard, those who don't bench to the limit. This board is suitable for the extreme overclockers and benchers. You shouldn't even have bought this board 5 times in a roll. Maybe you got this info too late, but I am telling you now. Now you know it that this board doesn't fit you. ![]()

| it fixes some bugs that orignial 3Dmark 2001 had. Plus upgrading to the SE version(along with 330 version) has better support for the newer computer hardware. ![]()

| I've got 512 MB, so I guess I'll bump it a little bit the next time I'm in the BIOS. Tnx.
