8KRA2+ any sight of a new BIOS So any sight of a new BIOS ? There's been a beta bios available for a while ftp://ftp.epox.com/downloads/BIOS/forums/ kra24130.bin one. But is there going to be any final one released ? and no point, pointing out they have stop manufacturing it. That does not mean they stop supporting and fixing the board EDIT to add and another one I had forgotten about availabel here http://people.overclockers.ru/AlexZerg/files

I installed the KRA24319U bios and all is fine. The bioses have been updated as well: HPT is now 2.351 and the SATA is now 2.31. So far no issues or stability problems

Can't address the 6in1 thingy, but no boot or stabililty problems so far. I am overclocking my XP-M quite a bit with no issues so far.

Still using it (kra24319U). No problems or issues. Seems very stable.

dave_99, please note that kra24319U is a custom-modified BIOS. It is nothing more but kra24319 with unlocked ACPI control function and HighPoint SATA BIOS v2.31. The ACPI control is hidden in official BIOSes, this modification allows you to configure ACPI manually. The updated HighPoint SATA BIOS is pretty useless since 8KRA2+ uses VIA SATA solution rather than HighPoint one. These changes aside, it is completely identical to kra24319. kra24319 has HighPoint RAID BIOS updated to v2.351, there's no info on other changes.

Dethroner, thanks for the update. Still, my setup is running very smooth and stable. Kind of question the SATA bios, as I am running a SATA RAID and no problems either. When the machine boots I =think= I saw the VIA 2.31 logo? When I restart I will double checkit.

OK so the HPT AND the SATA have both been updated? The highpoint is the IDE and the VIA SATA is the SATA right? Just wondering if this is all whats been updated because i use IDE and i havent got round to using SATA yet but i do know there are lots of SATA problems with it because the official bios uses old SATA buggy bios. Epox Tech IS around he just isnt commenting :/ Hes been around on other forums too, its a tad depressing checking up on this thread all the time and just praying epox release and official bios for this soon

Yep the Modified *U bios just has the latest Highpoint (HPT372) controller and the VIA SATA Southbridge controller updated. The ACPI I'm sure was just moved around or something as I'm sure it's in the official BIOS as well already. But hey, it works ![]() You can actually update the VIA SATA and the Highpoint ATA BIOS in the offical version if you wanted. I wouldn't bother with the highpoint one though as there ae only two minor difference between them The VIA SATA is the main one that needed updating.

FluffyChicken uploaded some 8KRA2+ bios files to AOAFiles. Go check here. This is the 8KRA2+ 4319U BIOS that was being refered to, I believe. |

To clarify the drive channels on this board. There are 3 actual as follows; 1. VIA ATA133 2. HPT 372 Raid (updated to bios version 2.351 with bios 24319U) 3. VIA SATA (updated to bios 2.31 with bios 24319U) I had no problem running the HPT raid or the VIA SATA raid prior to this upgrade. Currently I am running just a SATA raid with those Rockethead adapters I got from Newegg. I did not do any benchmarks other than a quick run of PCMARK 2002, CPU 7243 // MEM 5679 // HDD 2853. I can't find my little book with earlier bench scores that I was tracking, but I am not having any issues at all. Completely stable so far.

I'm going by my memory here; I was running EpOX v 24130 prior to this newer version. SATA -was- v2.20 (I remember this because I just set up a Linux SuSE 9.1 Pro system with an Albatron KX600S board and it had a v2.21 and new the 8KRA2+ was out of date. The HPT bios -was- v3.45? Not 100% sure on this one. I am pretty much up on building and modding systems, but not familiar with your previous post '66M PCI fix' sounds interesting? Can you clarify?

i just mean that if there was a 66M problem it means there could of been something before that effected the 'speed' of some device. So it could maybe increase performance a little if you was effected by this problem before ![]()
