Looking for assistance on new NF7 w/ 2500+

Hi all!

I'm new to the forums here, and this place looks great. I was hoping to find some guidance on my new system. Here are the specs:

Abit NF7
AMD|2500/333 ATHLON XP BARTON
DDR 512MB CL 2.0 PC2700 HYPERX -KINGSTON
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

Does anyone know what important motherboard bios features i should enable/disable and what overclocking settings I should try out? Right now it's just running to spec.

Also, I tried to run the Abit uGuru program. It says that "AC2003 not detected. This utility is only for the motherboard with AC2003 on it." I thought I could run this. Any ideas?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forums

The uGuru was for an AN7 mobo not the NF7. Run MotherBoard Monitor instead. Also do all of your overclocking in the BIOS, uGuru's overclocking freatures are (or atleast were) buggy.

Your ram will probibly hold you back the most. Go ahead and start raising your FSB a little at a time. If it becomes unstable try running mem test to see if that is your problem.

Good luck.

The first thing you need to do is identify if the CPU is locked... Try booting at 11.5x. If it does not, hit "insert" at boot up to force defaults back. If it does give you 11.5x, you should oc by multiplier first...

If not, your memory will definitely hold you back... Slow down timings, and go for 200fsb, your CPU should do 2.2ghz without much hassle... maybe a small voltage bump.

Good luck.
