Welcome aboard Nalster! Glad to have you with us!

Have you looked in our FAQ Forum? There are a couple of threads there that contain good general info on overclocking that you can use. As for your specific board, I do not know that board. However, I'm sure that someone here has some info for you.

Hey Nalster, welcome to AOA Forums.

You need to access BIOS, from where you can raise the FSB (Front Side Bus) in order to overclock. Your particular board should support 1 MHz increments of FSB. I just found that your motherboard calls this "CPU Frequency" in BIOS.

Try upping just a little bit at the time. Let the computer boot into windows, and run some testing to make sure it is stable. (I recommend Folding@home, but there are lots of others out there). If it is nice and stable, you can go back into the BIOS, and up the FSB another notch or two.

Watch the temperatures as you go, you don't want to toast your CPU.

I think you will find this link handy, btw: http://www.ocworkbench.com/2003/ecs/...a2gallery1.htm

Is there any way of changing the multiplier rather than the FSB? Every time I change the FSB I get screwy things going on with my AGP:PCI bridge thingy...

Your manual should indicate whether you have the ability to change multis or not, and whether you can do it through the BIOS or a jumper. Odds are, though, that you don't have that option at all. Since I don't really know your board, that is about all I can offer.

In looking at the manual, I don't even see an option for you to change the FSB. This does not look like much of an overclocker friendly BIOS.

I can chnage the FSB in the BIOS and from the overclock program in Windows, just won't let me do the multiplier - is that because my chip is locked?

You should have BIOS option called 'SoftMenu III' that will allow you to twiddle the FSB. If your CPU is multi-locked then you will be able to change the multi in the BIOS but it won't make any difference in the speed of the machine.

Memory timings are in the 'Advanced Options' part of the BIOS.

As I said, I can find no option in the manual to even change the FSB. What this tells me is that the ability to change FSB was added to the BIOS after the manual was printed. It may be that you can use a proggy like CPUMSR to change the multi and such after you are up in Windows, or maybe not. In any case, if your chip is locked, it won't matter.

The Multiplier is probably locked. I had to use the copper wire trick to get my 3000+ running at 2500MHZ.
