New Castle or Claw Hammer

I was wondering what would be better a claw hammer or new castle core

depends, if you want to overclock then the newcastles usually reach a higher speed
If you don't I still say a newcastle because to compensate for the 1/2 L2 cache they add 200mhz which compensates in most things and in a couple of situations it can have an advantage
Plus they're cheaper I beleive

They're the same price, and yes im gonna slightly OC so ill go with the NC for $282.00

there are 2 3400+ s754 chips, the clawhammer core runs at 2.2ghz and the newcastle at 2.4ghz which is the chip I have and runs at 2.6ghz overclocked

Which one would be a better deal for gaming

as of right now the new castle 3400+ is at $233
and the claw hammer is at $239

I need soemthign that will kick ass

my clawhammer @ 2.2 gives better benchmark numbers than my buddy's NC @ 2.4 both with a 9800pro.

in games? probaballt neither really as the vid card is usually the limitting factor
unreal tournament is one of a few games that benefits from the cpu and that will be an insignificant gain really probabally in favour of the clawhammer
