Can´t get pass 200FSB!

I did not know where else to put my post...

I´ve just purchased Geil Ultra Value Series 256x2 dual channel, I have a DFI Infinity ultra (NF2 chipset), I can get the memory past 200MHZ without system problems...

My bios Setings are VRam is at 2.8V and SPD settings, this ram comes at 2.5 8-4-4-4 it says on the sticker, I´ve set thoose timmings manually and set them to a relaxed 9-4-4-4 or 11-4-4-4 with Cas 2.5 and still can´t get pass 200MHZ I tried Cas 3.0 and still nothing

I´ve seen this same ram taken to speeds of upto 235FSB, ofcourse not every ram is the same, but I would like to OC just 210Mhz...

I could set them to 2.5 -3-3-3-11 better performance they give me, but still at FSB200

Thanks for any reply...

Can you lock the AGP/PCI frequency to 66/33?

I really don´t think it the AGP clock...Before this memory I had Corsair Value Ram 512mb Pc3200, I had them Overclocked at 220mhz, and didn´t have to set anything on the AGP bus.

Have you tried all the usual things, like each stick by itself, different slots, that kinda thing. This is the same setup that you had at 220 with the other RAM? Can't really think of anything else, sorry Carlo.

same setup...I think there is really no point on OC a single 256MB ram, since I bought the dual channel kit, and they must work together...

thanks anyway...

anyone else?

I wasn't saying to use only one stick forever, just to test. Sometimes one stick'll go bad, but the other's fine. If one stick clocks to 250 and the other throws errors at 200, then you won't get past 200 with both sticks. Again, samething with the Dimm slots, one might just be bad and that could be what's holding you back. Try OCing each stick individually in different slots. One might be bad and you could RMA the single stick or not use the bad Dimm slot.

Ok welll....I ran Memtest at 210FSB only for a while and no errors...

I will be leaving memtest overnight to see if any stability problems, seems fine but windows allways messes up

Yea, kinda slow and WinDohs always screws up much easier than anything else. Good luck and let me know how it turns out. Your board is good, so if both sticks OC well individually, I don't know what else to tell ya. BTW, careful if you're using WinXP. If you change the memory back and forth too much, it'll require you to re-register.

I've read that the Geil ram performs best with max volts. I'm running the Geil Ultra Platinum and it took me 2.9 volts (max setting in the bios) to get over 210 FSB. I had the same issue with my last mobo (IWill XP333 @197 FSB). I'd pump up the Vram and give it another go.
