Mobo Repair

Alright I've done a lot of looking around, and all I can seem to find on DFI's site is a RMA service for Europeans...

I can't RMA to Newegg, or so they say.

Can anyone walk me through what I'd have to do to send my DFI LANParty NFII Ultra B motherboard to DFI so they can repair it? I will pay for repairs, screw the warranty. I just want to get the board going again. DFI customer service hasn't been very straightforward so far.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

In my experience with Abit UK the quoted cost (£53) of the repair was only slightly less than the price of a new NF7-S (£58), so not worth it for a 3 month warranty. You may find its the same with DFI and you could save yourself a ton of time and just by a new board to get you back up and running quickly. Then look into getting the other one repaired and possibly sell it?

My £0.02 worth

Yeah, that's actually a good idea, aside from the fact that I'd be facing huge data loss. But hell I'm over the data loss part. I've accepted it and its time to rebuild!

In fact... I ordered an Abit NF7-S v2 earlier as it wasn't very expensive, and seemed like a good board to keep me content until I go A64 (maybe dual core). Its not like any current games will tax an A-XP system to death... I mean Half-Life 2 will still run on the best graphics settings with my rig (or what was my rig before I killed it). I'm sure I can hold out until dual cores become commonplace. Heck, it'd even let me get a single core A64 for a bit cheaper.

I realize the NF7-S v2 uses an older nforce2 chipset variant... any performance to be lost here?

Im not sure about performance loss but I know for a fact that the NF7-S from Abit it good little board. A mate of mine (before he got his new one) pushed one of these boards with a 2600XP modded to a XP-M to about 2.8ghz. 3200+, should do even better.
