Go to 11 instead of 7. nForce2 boards like 11 much better, although I'm not sure it will solve your problem.

no, i'm not convinced it will, but i'll certainly try

I've complained back to Dabs about my Matrix memory and they say they've tested it and it's fine so they're sending it back. sounds a bit cack to me.

well they took it back after two tries and didn't bother replacing it or letting me know what they'd found...

now i've got a new problem :/

it's resetting itself - not going to BSOD at all (despite reset still being supressed). quite frequently!

Set the Multimeter to AC voltage and a range that handles 240 jolts(if necessary). Don't let the probes touch each other while they're "hot." I assume that Britain has a reliable power grid--but ya never know until you meter it.

i'm always wary of sticking anything that isn't a 3-pin plug in a socket!!!

the PC is stable now once booted, but it's not booting first time at all - it beeps and has to have another go...

always have to tell it not to go into safe mode, or sometimes it makes me go to BIOS and i have to exit w/o saving.

it's starting to get annoying and i'm not sure what's causing it. I'm pretty sure that the previous problem was to do with overheating - the fan got turned down by accident. the GPU fan is making a horrible noise each time i boot, for up to 30 secs... surely it can't be that!
one other problem. the speakers are making a noise when i move the mouse - it's louder in firefox, but definitely there for normal stuff like word too! i have a usb mouse and an old pair of active cheapo speakers (nicked from work!)
