Question NEW DFI Crossfire Setup

It has taken a very long time for the first retail ATI Crossfire motherboard to arrive. However, ATI could not have done better than to have the first retail board come from DFI, the current leader in motherboards based on the nForce4 chipset. In every performance area important to overclockers and AMD hobbyists, the DFI is at least as good as the legendary DFI nForce4 motherboards. In some areas, the DFI RDX200 is even superior to their nForce4 boards.

There was two negatives about this board.
One is no SATA 2 controller.
The other is the board is extremely expensive.

Isn't Crossfire capability(dual ATi Vidcards) kinda late to market? Shame about no built-in SATA Controller, but the price of an add on won't kill you.

There is SATA built in, just no SATA2, yet.

Question

The reason this was a - feature.
All the nF4's in the DFI line has been able to handle the SATA 3.0gb drives. It don't make scense that they would build a new system board with these features and leave that controller out.

Question

The release did not give a price.
They did hint the board would go over $200.

check out OCUK, i think they have the latest one in now. Is it just compatible with ATi cards or will it work with Nvidia or others?

does sata-II really make much of a difference, and oh according to ocuk it has a promise controller on it which gives it 4x sata-II ports. and yes ati only cards for multi gpu.
Although anand's review and the dfi website say its a SI controller

A place here in Australia has one. For $339 AUD. By far the most expensive motherboard I have ever seen. But you pay for quality.

This board is CROSSFIRE ONLY.
That means ATI cards only, and one of them has to be a crossfire master card.
The other can be an ATI card you already have.
If you want to use a single PCI card, yes any will work.
WHY WOULD YOU PURCHASE A CROSSFIRE BOARD AND INSTALL A NVIDIA CARD IN IT.
You could purchase a $100 board and do that.

Did you read my post? I never said 2 cards, but anyway why the hell would people buy a DFI NF4 SLI-DR and stick a X850XT in that case over a NF4 Ultra D
