Exclamation HELP!! 45-46 (deg cel) Too High for Winchester 3500+ @ 2.39ghz?

Ive slightly overclocked my CPU and it runs at 2.39 core clock speed at the moment. But when used temp monitor in ntune, it started beeping. My avg temp in cou is arnd 44-47degrees. is it realy too high? Also ive seen my GPU (7800GTX256) temp rising to nearly 88/89 degress at times in full load (esp in NFSMW); is dat ok as well? waiting for a fast reply. ive got no issues or anything wid my system though.

The temperature on the CPU is perfectly acceptable but the GPU temp is terribly high i think Dsio could help you out there.

My 6600GT Doesn't go above 65 C and 6600GTs are really hot for GPUs. 7800GTX at full load ought to be below 60 C I think. The sensor may be messed up. The only way you could tell is with a DMM....I've got the feeling it's the sensor because you'd be noticing a lot of artifacts at that temp I think.

my 6800ultra runs upto 86c and my last card ran upto 83c but it does sound a little warm for a 7800 card.

Like mine your case could probably do with more airflow, the problem I have is my case is so large I get dead-spots in the case which heat up.

If you could put that fan about half of an inch further away from the cards surface, you could gain even more, I think.

There 's too little space between fan and card to allow the airflow to pass without too much resistance ...

I think the CPU temps are a bit high. Try reseating your heatsink. If that does not work either of the following (in no particular order are possible):-

0.Stock HSF and stock thermal goo is crap.
1.HSF is not flat
2.CPU IHS is not flat
3.CPU IHS is not making proper contact with the core.

44-47C is quite normal for a Winchester really. Mine runs between 50-60C with very good quality cooling and thermal grease and a good seating. It depends heavily on the inside case temp more than the CPU cooler generally, So I wouldn't mind that temp.

What is your ambient room temperature, and your internal case temperature though?

Ambient room temprature is 66 F and as for case temprature, remember that I have 2 overclocked video cards running in SLI, apart from overvolted BH5

Case temprature should be around 30 C (it is very well vented and has decent air-flow.

my room temp is 27 deg celcius, case temp is 39 deg, cpu 45/46. under heavy load cpu temp goes arnd 51-52 degrees. all stock cooling. adding dat fan reduced my gpu temp a lot ( now arnd 72-77 deg at heavy load) as i mentioned earlier.

Mate, thats about 18C ambient, as opposed to 27C ambient for saquib, and 36C (almost 100F) for me when the Air Con is switched off.

Any difference in ambient temperature outside the cases is compounded heavily in the case temperature, and even more in the CPU temperature. It is easy for a 10C ambient temperature change to have the effect of 20C increase in CPU temp.

Room temp and case temp really does have the same impact as bad cooling.
