AM2 - AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core FX62 2.80GHz

Yes, it's here, the FX62, in AM2 socket format! Running at a breakneck stock speed of 2.8Ghz and also dual-core, it provides plenty of headroom for overclocking and since it's Dual-core, it should allow you to run Phys-x enabled games, with the game itself being processed by one core and the physics processing done by the 2nd core.

But, at a earth shattering price of £740.19 (Inc VAT) for UK buyers, you'd better be more than a serious gamer.

I think you'd have to be stupid - most cheaper dual - cores with overclock that far with good cooling at a fraction of the cost.

Heck, you could put the money you've saved towards that PhysX card you are trying not to buy

I see Aria are getting AM2's in stock from this week also.

"Another week, another big launch at Aria!… The AM2 motherboard and CPU is here! For those of you that have been waiting for this for what seems like a lifetime… Catch the motherboard with us from tomorrow and the CPU from Wednesday. We can’t wait!" (From their sales email)

The British Pound is worth a LOT of dollars these days, so 740.19 GBP seems too expensive for these top of the line AMD2 dual core monsters. Perhaps a trusted friend in Canada or Stateside could buy one for ya. Of course, then comes the Queen's Excise and Customs. Arrgh.
