It used to be easy to justify since I would only upgrade when the latest OS would arrive and swamp my cpu. But that hasn't happened now since my purchase of an XP 2100+ several years back. True, my current machines are easily quicker, but it's not as if that additional speed is critical.

It'll be interesting to see what next transpires to really force a hardware change.
