Gigabyte K8N Ultra 9

hey guys.

any ideas how i can best overclock this board with the highest stable FSB using the following.
Gigabyte K8N Ultra 9(F8 bios)
AMD 3500+ Newcastle(Zalman 7000b Cooler)
2x512mb ddr400 Corsair ram(not sure of timings)
Gigabyte x850xt 256mb pcix card(Zalman vf7 Fatality cooler)
Gigabyte dvd writer
Kme 500watt atx v2.0
Seagate 80 gig Sata2 8mb
Ms kb+opti mouse
Samsung 17" crt
Onboard Realtek sound

The highest oc i got was at 220fsb,anything higher and it reboots,telling me to set settings in bios to default.

Any ideas highly welcomed.

Pull off the northbridge cooler and reinstall it with some artic silver. Unless of course you just have a passive cooler on your northbridge ( ie no fan) I've found in the past by cooler that better you will USUALLY get a higher more stable FSB overclock.

Let us know how that works out.

ok,thanks Robbie.will try and put on some AS5 on Saturday.so i got the board up to 245 fsb,stable,no lockups and no reboots.i set the Cpu multi to 10x and the HT multi to 3x,set the ram divider to 1/83,which gives me a ram fsb of about 210,am i doing this right.

Sorry about that, what I MENT to say in there was if you don't have a fan on your northbridge, go out and get one that does have a fan.

Seems RAM problem cos it is impossible to achieve < 270-280 MHz. Have you tried RAM dividers?
If you have downloaded Guidemania I had a similar issue with nForce3 MSI (SATA1 + SATA2).
