Dual Channel Memory

allow me to elaborate. mb Gigabyte GA-MA69G-S3H, AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition, 2X1GB XMS DDR2 800, 1.8v-2.0v
bios reports 2048mb, PCWizzard reports 2048mb installed and cpuZ says 2048mb Dual.
here is where things get me confused. PCWizzard shows 1024mb in bank# 1, 0 in banks #2, #3 & #4.
cpuZ shows 1024 in bank #1 and 0 in banks #2, #3 & #4.

I changed mem slots so mem in #1 & #3. cpuZ shows 2048 Single with 1024 in #1 and 1024 in #3. same in #2 & #4. put mem in #3 & #4 only shows mem in #3. each stick of mem works in all slots.

Changed memory. tried 2X1GB GSkill DDR2 800, 1.8v-2.0v. SAME thing. it's starting to make me crazy.

am I reading more into this than necessary? should I run mem test? should I just relax and let it go?

basically chose to ignore the discrepancy. I may try a bios update. may not. everything tells me there are 2gig of ram and the 'puter works just fine

btw, the box I got from you last year is still running strong at the 'office'.
