Re Start

I went up to 1610 mhz. and the computer was stable for several hours. The temp was good and I was folding.
The computer restarted and did not have a blue screen or any type of errors. Any ideas?

more than likely your NT kernal took a crap ,I would try to dumb down the RAM timings and if that didnt help I would blame CPU or northbridge/PLL temp

actually since it folds for a bit ..its prolly a heat issue...but it may be an overheated PSU!!!! :-D

Probably for what I am doing, the power supply is the problem. I am embarrased to say that mine is a 300 watt. So back to the order book for a new one. But in the mean time, if heat on the supply is an issue how about another fan on it?
I am also gonna try the dumb down ram timing suggestion.

i have two 300 w sparkles and two 400 watt sparkles that i regulary trade around just to see what happens ....nothing.... my over clocks stay the same!!

any thing in the high end ps arena (above 300w) will do..

unless your packing all of you psi slots and running a zillion case fans:-D :-D

How hot you runnin?

I have the exact same unit (CPU/mobo, I'm assuming your CPU is unlocked, mine is) and I am running at temps on the attached file. I am running Seti@Home which gives me 100% CPU usage so this system is running all out. It is rock stable at 1589 MHz. I am using a case with 4 80mm fans and an Alpha PAL 8045 HSF. It seems to me that the CPU temps are what always get me. What is your ambient temp? If you want more info, I'll be happy to share.
All the best,
Uncle Bob

I hope that I took care of the problem. I installed my pc in a new case and I put in some extra fans.
My temp is now 37c while folding. I hope that the next time that I mod a case it will be easier.
Maybe in a little while I will crank the proc up a bit.

bigjohnson,
By looking at your system OC setup, it is likely the PSU voltage instability. Over 1.6Ghz on an AMD chip with a 300watt ordinary PSU may be a little flakey. 300- 350watt psu is okay if it it puts out voltage with less fluctuations on the rail. I don't think it's the heat causing this. Antec 350watt PSU for example, would solve your auto-restart problem.

"Uncle Bob" if you don't mind what are your bios settings? Keep in mind that I have an 1.2 revision board. My ambient temp is around 70f. Now I have a cpu temp of 35c. Which is good.
"Whatever", I think it is time to shop for a power supply.

I'm not sure what revision my board is. I am running an Athlon 1.4 AHYJA (I think that's the code) factory unlocked. Here are some basic BIOS settings:
Multp Factor: 11
Core Voltage: 1.85
I/O Voltage: 3.5
CPU Command Decode: Fast
CPU Drive Strength: Enabled
Enhance Chip Performance: Enable
Force 4-Way Interleave: Enable

I just put in A Thermalright AX7 with an 80mm Delta screemer blowing on the Heatsink. The temps are at idle with ambient temp at 73 degrees.
Hope this helps, More info if you need it.
