AMD is working hard to regain the market share it lost to Intel -- many analysts say that if AMD wants to mount an effective comeback it needs to launch products that will compete well in the marketplace. [Front page...]

Are they going to use river names like Intel does/did? A bit strange, "new" probably better describes the change in naming convention for AMD. ARM is getting into netbook processors? Is Via feeling left out of this? They're famous for low power!
When the world will be better.

Via are struggling a bit, I think. Their 'Nano' CPU (which was released in September) is targeted at the netbook market, and is arguably more capable than the Atom from Intel, but also consumes quite a bit more power. That may make it a hard sell.

Some of these look good.

As for Via, not sure abouts its netbook market. Netbooks don't need the power so much, basic word processing and browsing. Anyone wanting to do serious computing is better off buying a real laptop.

I'm liking the look of the ARM for netbooks.

For the Via nano platform I like the look of the artigo (VIA ARTiGO Pico-ITX Builder Kit A1000 - VIA Technologies, Inc.), or similar for a small home theatre pc similar in use to what I'm using now - an old dell GX110.
