R.I.P Abit

Sad but true, Abit is going down the crapper as of December 31st.

Abit’s Death Date Reportedly Set: 31st of December, 2008 - X-bit labs

Really loved my AV8 and many of our peeps, Gizmo included got good mileage from the NF7-S. Sad to see them go but I guess its a sign of the times.

Ah, man, that sucks. Seems all the good companies are slowly fading away. They had a good run. RIP.

The NF7-S was a good board. As far as I am concerned, they started their downhill slide about there, though. The AN7 was a decent board, but the µGuru chip was poorly implemented, and their decision not to work with developers of overclocking tools coupled with their really crappy in-house tools soured me on the whole brand.

I wouldn't be surprised if another mobo brand bites the dust in the new year.

My favorite board was the KT7A-RAID. I had 2 of them. They both failed but stood up to a lot of abuse and experiments.
I will miss Abit.
