This is the stock heat sink and fan that comes with the processor.

Definitely nice hardware! Is the stock HSF good enough for you?

It should do for now. From what I've read, this should overclock nicely even with a stock cooler.

I've had to order a new PSU. Took my old one apart, and the capacitors looked shot.

These Corsair Vengeance modules have tall heat spreaders. So, it would be difficult to fit some CPU coolers alongside these.

I have it up and running now, but using a 400w PSU I already have. It's enough to run at stock.

Processor runs at about 1.4 GHz @ 1 volt when idle, or just browsing.

Ramps up to 3.6 GHz under load.

Have tried a slight overclock of 3.7 GHz, and works just fine. Should go much higher...

It's great to see ~ Dan on the board! Looks like the stock HSF will have to do 'cause the RAM sticks sure don't leave room for more coolage. Mebbe a stronger fan wouldn't hurt?

There will be some HSF which fit. Something like this Zalman should do it:
Zalman CNPS10X-PERFORMA High Performance CPU Cooler: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

In the meantime, I want to see how much it overclocks with the stock HSF.

Just waiting on a new PSU.

New PSU installed - an OCZ ModXstream 600w.

Should do the trick.

Are you happy with the temps you're seeing? I read that this proc is only worth it 'cause it OC's well?
