Smile Help needed

Can anybody tell me if FM1 and FM2 are compatibles? I have a A8 5600 but some web sites said is an FM1 and others put it in the same page with FM2 motherboards. Who is right? I'm looking for an inexpensive motherboard for this APU. Will you please help?

Just saw your question and so I apologize for the lateness of this response. No, FM1 and FM2 are not compatible. An A8-5600 is Trinity architecture and that is FM2 (the 5xxx tells the tale). I suggest using an FM2+ main board so as to at least maintain compatibility with Kaveri. Hopefully, it'll also be compatible with the later Carrizo (Excavator) architecture, but that's still futures.
