Barton is this oc ok? got my 2500+ yesterday AXDA2500DKV4D 9375757240717 AQUCA0310WPAW it overclocks as follows 1.65 volts 2200mhz 1.75 volts 2266mhz 1.85 volts 2300mhz pass prime95 memtest 3dmark etc is this considered a good clocking barton or just average? |
1 Attachment(s) :) |
Looks like you have a real nice stepping there. If 1.85V got you 2.3GHz I wonder where 2.0V, and extreme cooling would take an BArton AQUCA 2500? Default is 1.83GHz or 1.86GHz? EDIT: if your hitting 46C with an Alpha PAL, I doubt there's much more head-room, unfortunately. Look's like Barton's are 2300MHz overclockers until Phase-Change then they hit a ceiling of 2.5GHz. Not bad for a 1.8GHz CPU, but weve been spoiled with these dang 1700 JIUHB's! |
ive only got a slow 80mm fan mind i dont want no delta screamer |
Really? And your getting 46C at 1.85V? Umm, maybe their's more head-room, then I thought. Have you thought of taking her higher? Now I'm sort of confused, becasue I just ordered a JIUHB:0307 AXDA1700DUT3C, for $60, $70 shipped 3-day from West Coast, but my original thought was to go Barton 2500 for $132, shipped 3-day $142? &nb sp;   ; & nbsp; &nb sp;   ; & nbsp; |
not realy 1.85 volts is the most i will take a 0.13 chip on air i prefer 1.75 realy |
it would most prob do 2400 at 1.95 with a slk800 and a delta though its windows stable at 1.775 volts btw at 2300 just not prime 95 and burn k7 stable at 1.8 volts |
I got a XP2500 a few days ago... AQUCA 0310 MPM. It did 2559 on 1.95 Vcore, watercooling on CPU and NB. Don't know how much Vcore they can take? SuperPi and CPU-Z |
To the best of my knowledge 2.2V if it's cold enough? Above that I don't know what the effects would be? Interesting question though. As heat is primary reason CPU's fail, then as long as the heat is dissipated, in theory, there'd be no limit, but we know that be true. For example even if your CPU, was at -50C,and you pumped 4V into it it would fry the circuits, would it not? I need Aedan's wisdom. |
One of my friends just ordered a sweet rig.. XP2500/Barton, nForce2, Radeon9500Pro (He has a GeForce4Ti4600, which should he use?), 2x256MB PC3500 RAM, 2xWD1200JB's, RAID-card :) Should be hella nice and hella fast :) |
my barton responds badly to vcore. Anything much more than 1.9v is counter productive. Temperature is more inportant to my chip. at 1.9v I can run 2.5gig if I go to 2.2v I can get 2.65gig stable but only if I keep the chip very cold. |
WOW 2.6GHz! You must be using phase-change? I'd tell your friend building his system to run the Radeon 9500, I'm almost positive it'll not only surpass the GF4 Ti in benchmark's, but the visual qualities (most important in my view) are incredible in this ATI series. And with the BIOS upgrades, and sftware mods available, he'll be able to acheive 9700 performance levels (at least in theory). Actually I've always preferred ATI visually to nVidia's graphics. Although their nForce2 motherboard's AGP/Twinbank architecure did wonders for my Tyan Tachyon G9700 Pro. When I transferred the card from my KT400 based 8K9A to my 8RDA I not only picked up an immediate 3,000 3DMark2001SE points, but the visual quality improved as well! |
