need 1x1GB RAM

A friend need one stick 1GB DDR ram. it's for a S754 Newcastle. He plans to oc his system. I remember some here have some well overclocking 1GB sticks. but didn't remember what brand/type/model name.
I think that was geil, but there are so many 1GB sticks from geil:confused:
maybe I'm totaly wrong???

as I wrote, only one stick with 1GB, not 2 with 512MB
because of CnQ and upgrade to more than 1GB later

sorry.try this

it ha nice low starting voltages so should do well overall.

gedon 7th January, 2006 09:07 AM

"should" ...I want somebody that has experiences with that
the ram should do 260MHz+++
btw higher voltage does not mean higher clocks, tccd performs well at 2.65-2.75V@~300MHz and what I heared most 1GB sticks don't like high vdimms of 2.9V+, too

This should do it. You know, you could probably save some money by not trying to run your RAM in sync with your processor, seeing as how it doesn't really have that much of an effect. I reccomend the first one.

we are talking about a single channel system. an increase of 50MHz on the ram give a small boost. ok it's only a small.
I talk to my friend. now he can decide between a cheaper noname ram or this from g.skill.

thx

I don't think you'll find 1GB stick of PC4000 (250Mhz[500Mhz DDR]) for cheaper than $100, especially from a company such as G.Skill. $.02

yes that I know but G>skill has a tendancy to just keep going with high voltages which I why I have them. I'ts not TCCD.

I don't think there are going to be many 1GB TCCD sticks in the wild. Many are UCCC or Infineon.

The G. Skill PC4000 (HZ) should fit the bill nicely.

madcatmk3 8th January, 2006 08:49 PM

I unfortunatly got the short end with g.skill my ram need at least 3.4 to run anywhere near stable with an 10mhz OC. My board only goes upto 3.2. :(
