Processor Upgrade
New to the group as of a week ago and wanted to find out what is available for upgrading a LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb Motherboard. I belive its a socket 754 board with a Sempron 2600+ 1.6GHz. I have 1 DDR pc3200 installed, a pc2700 256mb chip and a ddr PC2700 chips installed but it only shows 1gb on scanner but mycomputers properties shows the full 2.25gig...?

Was thinking of getting a 512MB Crucial Radeon X1600 Pro or a x1650 card... what would you reccomend.

I have seen a number of systems that overclock the components and then cool them with liquid, do those leak over time and does that ruin them

I basically want options to max out the machine as much as I can with the existing 350w power supply.

3908 is the score I got, and I have no idea if that is good or really bad.

I wouldn't recommend the X1600 or X1650; simply because it isn't futureproof, the Nvidia 7600GT is better anyway. If you want to go the mid range route go for a 7600GT. I hope someone else can answer your other questions.

To start off you would need to get matched ram. Sticks that are the same speed and latencys. This will help over clocking greatly.

On your water cooled question, I have had my rig under water for 4 years now. I have changed main boards and such but kept it water cooled. The potential for a leak is there. Once you get it sealed up it is usually maint free. Other than cleaning the radiator from dust. And maybe an occasional water change.

350 Watt PSU is a little on the skinny side. Once you go to a bigger video card that thing may not be able to keep up.

Well from the gfx side, if your cheep like me, you can get a 7600 gs (sure you don't get the gddr3, but o-well) and clock it to the gt speeds right off the bat, just get a decent cooler and your off.

As for prices, I only paid $91 for my gs, shipped and all. It's just something to look at.

oh yeah... sry, but you gota get a beefier pwr supply man, just something that we all gota do sometimes.

Check out this site for overclocking the Sempron 2600+ on your motherboard:

The gains in performance you could get look awesome.

Hope that helps
