Sounds to me like Intel is desperate to show that AMD's own incompetence is what hamstrung them, not Intel's back-room deals.

While it's certainly true that AMD created a lot of its problems, no date is given on those quotes. I've got to suspect that many of them stemmed from early in Henry Richard's time at AMD. Those statements were without a doubt accurate in late 2002. However, that was before AMD got the Hammer and later chips out the door. In addition, the purchase of ATI in 2006 greatly helped AMD's ability to build complete platforms.
