changing voltages

alrighty, I have an ECS, K7SEM mainboard, and a 900Mhz Athlon CPU, I have not yet unlocked it, but when I do (and I have adiquate cooling), how can I change the voltages, I already can change the multipier, (which is odd, because I know it isnt unlocked). but I would like to know if it is even possible with my current board. anyone know?

A tentative answer to the question if Vcc is adjustable on an ECS K7SEM would be: No.
As a rule, all of the sterling points of ECS mainboards(they're inexpensive and reliable) don't include adjustments that make OCing processor's on them easy.

Sorry, that's not an authoritive answer.

I figured there wasnt, thanks for the help Cloasters.

can I still unlock my CPU with a pencil, or did they change that on thunderbirds?

You can change the voltage on the chip. Connect all of the L7's and you'll get 1.85v. What's default for a 900mhz, 1.75v?

heh ECS without Voltage Contron I remember My K7S5A and D700@1180 :). 1. You can connect L7 bridges with pencil and you will got 1.85V. When you want more you can do modification on your mobo. When i was hardocore overclocker I had 2.5V on ECS K7S5A (burned :( ) with Vmod + L7 bridges. Good luck brother

awsome, so then connect the L1 bridges and the L7's? thanks for the help! any guesses on what kind of an increace can I expect?

 I hope so! 2.5v!!!!! The only place anyone should try 2.5v on a Socket A chip is in outerspace, on the dark side of the planet, in absolute zero temperature. 2.5v, whew!

L1 is for unlock multiplier but you can't change multiplier on your Mobo :(.
L7 is for up Vcore to 1.85V.

So when you connect L1 bridges this don't change nothing.

Yeah now this mobo is on the dark side of the planet :). I see on Italian site 2.8V at D600@1400! (Abit KT7A).

Some rabid OCer's just don't know how to say "that's enough."
More power to 'em, they certainly push the envelope-- so that the rest of us don't have to!

I hate the smell of burning transistors. At any time of day.
