I imagine that some sound sleep is really needed. Is it the pain- or the fear of unknown procedures to come? Or general anxiety about "there's something not quite right about a part of me, and this scares me?" Maybe all of the above is unsettling? I'd be plenty anxious too. Who wouldn't be?
Maybe you could find out if it's safe for you to take one of the milder sleep aids? Perhaps you don't need to monitor your condition with a magnifying glass? Easier said than done, duh. You don't have sleep apnea(sp?)? I sincerely hope not!

WOW! ROB!! I take a few days off and you fall apart on me!

Listen Bud, you not only can wait, you shall wait for this to be over. No amount of crawling about in your own skin and willing the seconds to pass is going to change that.

Here's what you can do to help your body, here's what WILL past the time more agreeably than you may think it can.

Stop pushing right now. Allow yourself to be led.

Make of yourself their willing subject, let go of your life and float... when someone says drink , just drink, when someone says get some rest, relax into the good hands you find yourself in and rest.

This is happening to you Robbie. Nobody asked you, this didn't need your permission to seriously mess with you! We nearly always hate it when that happens!

Resistance will only tire you. Let the woman take care care of you... it's time to let yourself be led.

Surprising the relief that can follow upon realizing we don't carry this world upon our shoulders...but are carried by it.

Dude, when you wake up gasping ( speaking from personal experience here... just so you know...)

God may be trying to tell you something....

Now I could be wrong and that's for sure...but if you going to be in the hospital anyway... hey! Why not get some rest? ":O}

My prayers follow you Robbie...

^ What he said. Now is a very good time to let yourself be a child again. Rest and be cared for. Mei's and my thoughts are with you.

Hey there Kiddo!

There's going to be a lot going on inside a fella in your predicament - big responsibilities to bear and now with one hand temporary tied behind your back.

For sure, hang that anxiety stuff out there to be dealt with. Your caregivers are pros at helping people through those natural responses, which are part of many important considerations in total diagnosis and treatment. Relief might be found in a number of forms. (Don't be turning down any extra massages!) If some of those rough edges can be smoothed it may be easier to let go of concerns that are less important at this very moment.

We'll be thinking of you and family, hoping that each will take extra care to move safely through these distressing and distacting times. Hope you will be enjoying a bunch more energy and far less worry in a hurry.

Best regards,
Patti

Robbie,
You read through this page and it about says it all. Allow yourself to be taken care of. Just ask for stuff, have that monster pizza & a cold one, if thats ok at this point. Be lazy, get board. Most of all take care of yourself-the best way-by letting yourself be cared for.
Get well.
Michael

WOW!! I am truely honored! Thank you for your kind words there lady!
And Dan... once again.. you wow me with your wisdom. I thank you again, from the bottom of my heart. At least what's left of it!

We... I don't think I made mention, but I had kinda a bad reaction to the dye that they used in me. Nothing too bad... just got a rash. The nurse was a little worried and told me to head straight for the hospital, Dr. called and said to just stay home and take some Benadrill (sp?) and relax.

I was limping around there for days. But I am doing alot better. The bruising is almost gone, as well as the limp. I finally go my apt for my next test. This one will be fairly simple. It's just a CT scan. They are basically going to move me in and out of a big donut!! I'll go in for that on Tues at 1:30. So, I hope to know more after that.

Thank you all again for your kind words helping me get threw this. It's been kinda roughl, and I know it's going to get rougher before it gets better.

My good friend...we are getting older...we are all in for a rougher ride, a harder time....none of us know when we will hit the next speed bump, bounce and have to slow our roll a bit... but we know we will...":O}

Look at it this way...it could have been worst...it might have been me!

( Oh! Wait! It Will be me!)

Still... not so good that it was you. Thank you for stepping up and claiming this portion of mankind's pain to bear. I Know...you didn't exactly volunteer... who does!? Yet it is our pain and we must bear it.

I know you will bear it with as much reluctance as I would and I'm proud of you for that! ( I get nervous around people who like this stuff!)

And I know you'll come through this in a manner some what similar to the manner in which a cat is deftly transported though a washing machine and then the wringer! And I'm proud of you for that!

When your bearing the pain of human progress it's suppose to hurt! ":O}

We are not mighty Rob, we are the leaves of a single season...then dust floating above the earth...then earth again...until our spirits return to mingle with the earth once more in a new season...

we borrow a set of seasonal clothing as we arrive, red for boys, blue for girls and return a heap of used up bone rags as we leave! LOL

(Which is why I suppose... were not suppose to piss on each others graves...ya think?)

Come on, you know you've been thinking about the Big sleep":O}

"To the superior man is does not matter weather death comes early or late. He cultivates himself, awaits his alloted time and thus secures his fate."

I-Ching

We are all but awaiting our allotted time...awaiting it or trying to run from the most naked truth of this world. Death nourishes everyone we know and love. Then Death comes for what it has nourished that it may nourish the next generation upon us. Feast upon my bones little ones. The marrow is sound.

I most definitely have to go with Danrok on this one Rob! Slow news may well be good news here! Who wants urgency in their conversations with their doctor! ":O}

Either way our days are number...so feel as well as you can! LOL

I don't bother to take any sleeping pills as I almost atleast once a week (if not more) find myself not breathing in the middle of the night. I might be suffering from some type of sleep apnea. I'm not sure. I don't wanna take anything that will put me out and maybe put me down.
