Keep stretching. I know from personal experience that stretching, though uncomfortable (and sometimes downright painful) is essential to a speedy and complete recovery, not to mention just general well-being. As always, I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

It has been toasty here.

My backside was quite numb.

It was a good day today. Things are looking up.

When things first start to improve...time to go slowly and avoid any set backs... Remember your in this for the long run and in the long run an extra month in recovery is nothing if it leaves you healthy and happy...

we want you healthy and happy...":O}

I appreciate your care more than you know. I have been fighting the urge to go do things I know I should not. Opening a simple over head door gave me a day a grief. I must remember it has only been a month. (Today) Plus ripping it open a day later has changed everything. I am doing much better. Still very tight after sitting. I feel a little like Quasimodo. I am intent on getting of this opiate crap that I am on. Soon I guess. I am very worried about withdrawal.

Withdrawal is nothing to sneeze at Saw. But there are different kinds of withdrawal. The kind you mostly hear about is the junky withdrawal, and that my friend is one bear cat that I don't recommend. You might, did you notice I said might?, have withdrawals. They will be uncomfortable, you might have some sweats, maybe the squirts, though I drought it. Bottom line Sam is that the real hard withdrawals are reserved for those that abuse the drug. You won't have a big problem. Don't worry about it. You'll do fine.

I dropped this cold turkey once before after taking the same stuff for five years. I literally thought I was going to dye for about 4 days. I sat on the floor with my arms and chest hurting sweating and not sleeping. The Dr. told my not to do that this time. Opiate withdrawal can kill you...

When I had Zoster I had the same concern about the drugs, very heavy duty stuff! I was given a Doc that did nothing but handle my / others pain meds for a living.

He asked me if I was a junky. I said no, he said not to sweat coming off the drugs, he'd bring me down when I was ready....

When I was ready, I had no problem cutting back until I was clean, no problems wanting to go back to the drugs...LOL

People think it's their job to heal, it's not. It's our job to be in close touch with our healing and feed it when it's hungry":O}

Get in touch and stuff your face, good times arrive in there own time and we shouldn't interfere befor that time is ripe.

Good times are coming we need only be able to wait.":O}

Baby steps lead with the greatest certainly to the goal, if you make a mistake, it's a small retreat, rest, and move forward again. When we can't afford any big mistakes, baby steps lead with the greatest certainty to the goal.

When we can't afford to lose, we should take no chances that aren't forced upon us,... yes?

How seldom men have had occasion to regret caution! ":O}

Sam, that time you were on it for four years. That is big time. How long have you been on it this time? I haven't kept track but it's in weeks-not years.It may go to months. Believe me, It makes a hell of a big difference. On top of that you know better than to just huddle and go through it. Man, at this point, be aware of the situation, talk to your doc about it, but IMO, you are not in any kind of serious difficulty. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.
Talk to your doctor!!!!!! Again!!

16 months this time. I maxed out about 2 months before surgery and am still pretty close to that. 400 Mg a day . I was only taking 150-300 the time I went cold turkey. The pain management doc did say he would help me when it is time. I expressed my concerns long before I had surgery. I am sure I will be fine. Thanks again all of you for your support and friendship.
