1.45 seems the place to go. I have a few things to get to this week end and a little beyond, should be able to give it a go after that. Now,I can't get much past 600 as is reliably. Many thanks!

Chris I know what you are going to ask. And the answer is yes!!!! get an old p-2 system and some good cooling and you will have your best chance of flying right on by me in the benches. Stay away from evil things like New Intel chipsets. And don't even think about one of these new Nvidia cards! Why they are so heavy you could actually hurt yourself trying to install one. I would just be sick if anything happened to you. So just stick with the old stuff it was feather light and if you shop ebay you will see that the systems are just really cheap to build.

Remember P35...= bad bad.
8800 = bad bad
2900= bad bad
Now you know you don't want to be bad.

P-2 350mhz = Good good
200 watt psu = good good
Windows 95 possibly 98 = good good

Benching seems exciting but it should be left to us professionals so all you boys and girls at home...... don't try this......

hope to see you clinbing that mountain soon!!! chris.........

Tommy I know that man all two well (cuts and bruises from thousands builts) I feel like going in the dark side I feel like joining your clan man even if I remember moking you a long time ago for your Intel inclinations. I appologise now and I admit for me Intel is the way now + nvidia. Ati+AMD can go and relearn the ways if they want to have any chance. WZ thanks for opening my eyes, I am coming man, ...after you that is

Chris

Nice OC. I will have to try to push it more. My temp now is 33C loaded. I should have enough room.

Weldzilla, I don't know if you are trying to be funny here or not. Maybe I just don't "get" it. But please don't start mocking people for their financial status, and which equipment they can or cannot afford. Benchmarking should be fun for everyone, to see how much performance increase they can get out of their systems, or to compete with friends that have a similar system. Not everyone can afford the latest equipment. But I think everyone should be able to enjoy benchmarking regardless. I don't think that posts like that are really going to encourage people to join in on this thread if they are new here, as to me it seems to be pretty nasty and hostile. As I said maybe you are just joking. I certainly hope so.

Compared to my jokes, your English is good enough to be British, (the American form always take longer to master! )

Well there is an old quote from three famous philosophers
you should bear it in mind as you make your arduous journey to Smite me Chris.

the 3 philosophers were
Angus Young
Malcom young
Bon Scott

They wrote in one of there more famous odes

IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP, IF YOU WANT TO ROCK AND ROLL!!

and as former fast and agile star of his own action movies.
Stephen Segall used to always say, " Come on ,Come get some.

OK Chris now you are armed with all the philosphies you need for your journey............

I sit on the top of Mount Itsgettingdeep and wait....
