Windows 7 Ultimate is the best OS MS has put out to date! I really love it!
Believe this or not, but after tweaking the services it now boots up in under 20 seconds! This is faster than XP PRO!

Not to mention the Outstanding DX9/10/11 Gaming performance of the OS!!! Great FPS & all the Eyecandy too
with plenty of system memory left for the games!!!
This IS the OS I'm going to Upgrade to from XP absolutely for sure!!!

You can also customize the System info just like Vista Ultimate...(I got instructions on how to do this if you want to do it on your OS...screenshot below)

Now the down side...

1. It's not fully compatible with all software & drivers yet, but that's it... I've only found 3 programs so far that wouldn't install.

2. When coming out of sleep mode my Logitech G15 drivers stop working so my keyboard doesn't work without rebooting the system which is 15 seconds...LOL

So that's my assessment on the new Windows 7 Ultimate OS.
I'm going to use this until the key stops working on a day to day basis from now on & keep the other
OS image backups up to date. But for everyday usage it's going to be W7 from now on...

Here is as far as I'm willing to take her-for now.
The HSH is doing it's job rather nicely. Running both GPU client + SMP Client. Both cores at 100% and it hasen't gotten to 40c!

Well between PPM & Sam my system is medium speedium! LOL
Really good OC PPM, looks really good on the FSB too.

Sam, what's to say? You Vantage score is almost double that of mine...

The only thing my system has over both of yours is I'm running W7 with DX11...other than that both of your systems are stomping all over mine now...

Mine is not stable, MUff!n, and I've cut it back to 3.4Ghz-I know I can make 4Ghz or maybe 4.5Ghz but I don't know enough yet. I need to get other things done. I'm working on Mareen's care givers computer, another person that never learned the words defrag or chkdsk. To messed up to save, transferring some files over to a flash drive & XP just finished installing. I'll set it up an install some programs. Then I can start to learn some more on mine!

In case you haven't been following my posts on Windows 7 Ultimate Beta, this new OS kicks ass & I really love it!
As Critical as I am on operating systems, this is saying a lot for this new Windows system!
This is the best gaming OS I've used to date that uses DX9/10/11!
It uses only slightly more memory than XP does (22% of 4Gbs) so there's plenty of RAM left over after the OS for games!
Also as I said, the 3DMark Vantage score is the highest it's ever been being clocked at 3.30GHz!

If you've tried Vista & didn't think much of it (Like me) then you are going to really like W7 & how DX10 games play on it!
The higher settings where Vista would be laggy, W7 is not at all! Smooth gameplay with all the eyecandy on!
Well worth the install & testing of it...
As I said before...this is the new OS I'm going to upgrade to once it's final & released to the public & I'm going to run the beta until the key is no longer valid on a day to day basis as my regular OS!

Sam, if you install W7 make sure to run the DXwebinstaller to update DirectX! After you do this all your games will play on it!

OMG, a system that was never defragged!
What a mess...I bet it took a few mins to bootup too...LOL
I defrag every single day to keep my system speedy.

Well it's not 4.2 but close! I've got to do some tweaking th0ugh. when vantage was running, each transition would be a black screen, and when it finised, I only had a 1/4 desktop. when I clicked on my screen capture program-Drive Sweeper would run! And I was kind of surprised. my score had droped to 6887 even though i'd gotten 4.05Ghz. Re boot and every things fine. Don'tknow quite where to go from here. How bout a hint or two?

I want to go for 4.5G but I 'm a little nervous about it. Is it time to start morking on the memory? Just what will that do And which way do I go with it and why?
The G.Skills are rated CL4-4-4-12 1.8v~1.9v.
The bios sets it at CL5-5-5-15 2T. I've basicly left it alone except to raise the volts to 2.025v. So far 4.05 is stable. I put the shaders back to default on the video and that seems to have cured any problem. Ran Prime95 in a couple of different setups ( not long enough to be possitive, but will try for that tonite.)
I've been running ORTHO for about an hour with folding on and temps are 48-49c.

This is my set for 4.05Ghz.
Cpu Multy: x9
PCI-e: 100mhz
spp-mcp refclock 200mhz
HF Multi: both set for 5x
spread spectrums: all dissabled

FSB & Memory
FSB mem clock unlinked
FSB mhz: 1800mhz
mem: 800hz
mem timeings: what the bios wants them to be
not there rated cl4-4-4-12

SYS Volts
CPU Core: 1.336v
CPU FSB: 1.3v
Mem: 2.025v
SPP: 1.4v
MCP: 1.6v
HT:1.3v

Any improvements I can make? Gotta be!

You need to post this message in the Intel Mobo & CPU section of the forum PPM, that's why you haven't had any response to it!
They think the post is about Vantage Benchmarks.

I may take the time to actually look through the posts, but others don't.

A fresh install of Vista x64 With minor changes to OC.
The temps don't mean much, haven't installed F@H or much else.

Hey PPM, if you haven't installed the newer Geforce 182.06 WHQL drivers do that, as this has given me my best Vantage scores to date @ 3.30GHz...
I'm sure this will improve your score as well!
