Mightn't we have a LINUX benchmarking thread as well?

Why compaire apples to whatever that is that Chris Bard uses for OS!

We need a Topic in which CB Doesn't dictate to us which benchmarks we use!!

Chris Bard has even posted a benchmark in YEARS!

We need a topic free of the chains of the past. Where we can begin to establish for ourselves how well or poorly our Linux systems are doing and begin the journey into understanding why.

All improvement begins with a reality check!

We need a topic where we can gather suitable benchmarks and teach each other how to use them properly.

Modern Linux desktops make our hardware enviroment far more knowable than in the past.

It's just a matter of finding and getting to know our tools.

So...this is why I think we should, but is there an interest in this that goes beyond my desire that there should be? Please let me know...

Oh! Chris Bard, please feel free to post, let us know how your doing!

I am fine Daniel and I hope you will have soon a good bench that our Linux users will find as entertaining as Futuremark's 3D Mark. But hey why not use the latest 3D Mark to...oh gosh, my bad I forgot is not running on Linux! Anyway good luck!

PS. I might do a new thread Benchmarking Mobile Phones for fun!

Yes Phones are great, I didn't realize how many different types of Linux there are to replace MS with... Was that to harsh?

Kidding aside I thank you Chris and I anticipate your contributions. You're a man of fierce loyalties and once we get them properly aligned I know you will further the use of Linux though out the world...

If only by posting of your difficulties installing and running a calculator on your desktop....as your desktop... MS is counting on you to find somekinda way to make this work, failing that, they want you to say how much you're looking forward to buying a new OS that kinda works if you spend two years learning how and collecting patches...

I'm counting on you Chris to make the new topic a real success!

Besides, your the only one who wants this as much as I do! ":O}
