| RightMark Soundcard testing Rather than going for the sheer boringness of soundcard benchmarks, after all who cares about latency of less than 20ms? (Occasinally I do. That's what ASIO drivers are for.) What I care about is quality (and price of course!). So, I figured, why don't we do some benchmarking of soundcard quality too? RightMark Audio Analyzer is an easy to use tool, but it needs a loopback cable. (That's one that goes from the lineout to the linein, or from the SPDIF out to the SPDIF in) It'll even produce HTML reports for you. | Aidan's right, benchmarks are not just about CPU's and Video cards. Audio benchmarking is still just as valid an issue, although most people are happy to just hear sound from their speakers, there are PC Audiophiles too.......

| Ran it, found that i get the best scores if i turn the output volume down, and set the santa cruz EQ to "flat". Ended up getting an overall score of very good. I forget what my individule scores were, if anyone wants to know il run it again.

| Perhaps I should have said! When you run RightMark, ensure that everything is as standard as possible. Select a two channel mode, turn off any effects and any eq. Make it as boring as possible. Then post the graphs, even if someone's already benchmarked the same card! AidanII
