Unhappy Out of commission

Mobo fried, waiting for a new one.....kids computer offiline...no folding for me

(On the bright side, I'm upgrading to ddr ram & a radeon 9000 at the same time )

I was at work....came home to discover that my comp wouldn't boot.....the fans would power on and that was it. ...my son told me that he was using msn and then all of a sudden he heard a "bzzzt" and there was smoke....and then it never turned on again.....there's a nice little burned spot on the mobo.
The machine was not overclocked or abused in any way....so, hopefully it's rma'able to help me offset the cost of a new motherboard.

Sorry to hear about that! Glad your son escaped unscathed! I had 3 mobo's go bad last month alone! All mine were RMA'd, hope yours can be as well.

Betty, I can send you a mobo and processor if you like. They're old, but adequate. Asus 440BX, and Celly 366 that runs at 550. The Celeron was handpicked, it's 550 Mhz, 24/7/365, at stock Core Voltage.

LoL, ya i fried my 8rda+, i had it over clocked to what 220 fsb with a voltage of 2.75 and i was going great then all of a sudden BOOM! that sucker fried, i just told em it was the box that it came in was Damaged, They took it (thank god)
