I have no idea where they are going with my package, BUT.. They now have it heading to LOUISVILLE, KY! This is going in the OPPOSITE direction from AZ!?! ![]() So now UPS are also RETARDS! ![]() No wonder this is going to take 7 days, its going on a US tour... One thing I do KNOW for sure...the longer it is handled, the more likely it's going to be damaged. Man, I wanted to work on this, Saturday Morning! I did all my work and got it out of the way so I'd have Sat free. Guess I'll have to get onine and just play ET:QW instead... Enemy Territory: Quake Wars 07/17/2008 02:45:00 IN TRANSIT TO LOUISVILLE, KY, US

| It doesn't seem to matter who you use for shipping. At some point each will cause you a problem. At least you know where it is and that it's going somewhere.

| Ever tracked a package with US Postal Service? Most times, it arrives at the destination before they update the online tracker to indicate that it has left the shipper! (At least, that's been my experience)

| It's all good; I won't use UPS either - First, I had some damaged goods from newegg that were handled poorly in their travels. Then, I placed an order for about $1100 a few months ago. Keep in mind, my home is listed as a private business/residence. I had the signature delivery waived, so therefore all they had to do was leave the package on the inside or my door (which I left unlocked) and also a convienent little note saying where to place said items. I got back home and... nothing; I call UPS - apparently the driver listed my home as a business that had closed down and they sent the packages back through their distribution center (in Louisville) and sent them back to newegg. I called to find out if I could have them re-routed back to my home. Nope, had to re-order the sum bitches from the Egg. So then I had to go through that fun again, while trying to get the initial charges removed from my credit card. Newegg was gracious enough to waive the shipping cost - and said that when the packages arrived at their department, they would send them right back out to me overnight Fedex - at no cost to me. .... and whodda thunk it, they showed up @ 3pm the next day. The Egg and Fedex are the only combo I trust; /end rant

| OK, I found out some info today from UPS cust service that puts a whole new light on UPS & another reason I will NEVER use them again for anything. #1 is the deceitfulness of the UPS (Undesirable Practices in Shipping) so called 3 day shipping aka 3 DAY SELECT. This in fact has nothing to do with how many days it takes at all! Seems that instead of sending the package to the Phoenix distribution center, they send it all the way across the country to LOUISVILLE, KY. Then they send it all the way back across the country again to Phoenix, then send it to Payson. ![]() This is the reason it takes so long. So this confirms that UPS is in fact Retarded. Now what should have gotten to me today is going to take till Monday afternoon. ![]() Never agiain! ![]() UPS Customer Service "The reason the package is routed into Kentucky is that is where our main > Air sorting hub is located. Three day select is a combination of ground and > air service used. > > Your package was shipped on 07/16/08 and is scheduled for delivery on > 07/21/08. This package was shipped utilizing our 3 Day Select service and > requires 3 business days in-transit for delivery. > > Please be aware that Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays are not included as > transit days. The ship date is also not calculated as a transit day."

While it seems inefficient and wasteful to ship a package to Louisville so that it can be sent back to to you, in terms of the overall efficiency of their operation I can assure you that it is makes more sense to do things the way they are now. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards in order to take two steps forward.

| *sigh* i've had similar annoyances. I've had to deal with UPS for shipping, primarily the power tips and cables for my laptop's power bar. A tiny lil package. barely bigger than the size of a standard envelop, and they send it via UPS. Now at the time that they would arrive at my apartment, which is in the basement of a house that's been converted into an apartment, I would be at work. so, i clearly mark my door with the apartment number, and a note saying please leave the package in the mail box. But alas, such is the foolishness of UPS, they leave a note saying time and date that they were there, and to pick it up the next day in their building outside of town. so i went there the next morning, it took me 1/2 hour by bus to get to the edge of town, and an hour to get to the building. by foot. So, i go in there, panting, sweating and dead tired. I ask for my package. I hand them my slip that they left me. they ask for ID. now, i haven't updated my ID for my new place yet at the time, and it's still got an old address. i inform them of that. they say they can't give me the package. I try my best to encourage them to give it to me. i specify precisely what was in said package. I mention i left a note for it to be left in the mailbox. they said they couldn't do that, that they needed a signature. :/ it was a wire. a $10 wire. I elaborate about the efforts it took to get me out there to their building. No luck. So i ask them to resend it to my home, (where i still won't be having the appropriate ID but will be occupying the location) they agree to resend it in the morning. So i had to walk back to the nearest bus stop, and bus back home. It cost $5 to get rejected over my own wire. So i wait there in the morning, and get my wire from the UPS guy who says to me very snarkily that i should be home when i know i'm getting a package. ...i knew i was getting it in 7 to 10 business days. I'm not staying home everyday of those days for a single wire. *scowl* /rant |

| At this point I'll just be happy if it arrives at my house in good condition and not damaged. *Fingers crossed, and a little prayer* ![]() Btw, the last time I had my new computer system delivered to me was FedX 3 day priority shipping. It arrived on the third day just as stated in the shipping agreement! ![]()

| With any luck (God willing) I'll have my stuff tomorrow afternoon. I know the UPS driver (Tracy) that covers our area and he never gets around to us till late in the afternoon or day. I'll probably be up Monday night until I get everything installed and ready to go for the next day of testing and heat monitoring as I raise the CPU clocks higher & higher...hehe!

| Amazon sometimes sends things via DHL, which then takes your item to the post office for delivery. This worked two out of three times for me. When it didn't I had no real recourse. Loved that. I hate "guaranteed 3-Day" from UPS. Once out of maybe twenty five deliveries, four days if you're lucky. Sooner or later, all of the delivery services will mess up on you. Just pray that it won't be a real vluable item. Sigh.

| As I stated before, I'll just be happy if everything gets to me in one piece & undamaged after going across the US twice. I "know" all about how UPS handles their boxes! One place I worked when we packaged stuff to go out to customers we would have to UPS Proof them so they would get there in good condition!!! Lets just hope that Newegg did the same and from now on it will ALWAY be FedX... ![]()

| The last time I used the FedX 2 day Express delivery, guess how long it took to get it? That's right, 2 days!!! I have NEVER gotten a package delivered later than the stated delivery time using FedX! Yea you pay more, but you also get what you pay for... ![]() Btw, there is NO Recourse you can take with UPS that their lawyers can't find a loophole to deny. ![]() I've read more than one horror story involving UPS & one involved a shipment that was Fully Insured that came damaged to him by UPS's handling of it. One corner of the box was totally crushed in (about 12") and crushed the Computer case and destroyed the mobo and other HW parts inside it! It took him a Lawyer and almost a full year to have UPS reimburse him for the damage & this is something he paid for!!! ![]() I'm still shaking my head at "why" I went with UPS knowing what I know about them instead of FedX... I guess going without sleep for a few days impairs your judgment a lot & I just wasn't thinking really. More like sleep walking. Thank God everything got to me in good condition!!!
