What faith in keeping the law!

So, the Attorney General says to Congress, "Not every wrong, or even every violation of the law is a crime."

From a purely moral standpoint, not every violation of the law IS a crime; some laws are unjust.

From a purely legal standpoint, not every wrong IS a crime; some things that are wrong are not illegal.

Therefore, his statement, from a purely semantic standpoint, is accurate.

Now, that being said, I thought the law made it pretty clear that you could not discriminate in the hiring of people based on race, sex, creed, political affiliation, or indeed anything that didn't directly bear on the ability to perform the required job. As such, this statement is just another weasel-worded response from a politician trying to justify not doing something.

Not always. Exceptional circumstances can sometimes mean that you can violate the law, and be "let-off".

One needs to be "let-off ,Because one has committed a crime... or as we like to say in the states "Violated the law."

Even violating an unjust law is a crime, thou not necessarily an injustice. EVERY breach of the law is a crime and has a penalty. As far as I know there are no laws on the books that aren't ascribed a penalty as a criminal code classification.

The attorney General of the United States is an evil ambitious liar and should be impeached for high crimes. He knows he's talking pure treasonous crap.

If my family was being held hostage by an armed person, and he instructed me to go to a shop and snatch $500 from the till, then that would be a violation of the law, but not a criminal act on my part.

I'm pretty sure that I would be found not guilty, for that. No crime has been committed until it is proven and the person is found guilty in court.

There is a caveat in American law and it's called intent. If a person commits an act, any act, but has no intent to break the law or commit a crime, then he did not.

If you plan on indicting him for treason, I hope you plan on indicting at least 3/4 of Congress along with him.

If you believe that Congress have repeatedly failed to act in the best interest of its citizens but rather have acted in their own petty self-interest, then Congress have committed treason.

If you believe that the war in Iraq is wrong, and you believe that we were lead there under false pretenses, and you believe that Bush is guilty of treason because of that, then by extension Congress are complicit in that treason.

If you believe that failing to enact meaningful immigration control is equivalent to failing to protect our country, then Congress are guilty of treason.

And leave us not forget previous administrations, such as the Clinton administration, or the previous Bush administration.

If you are going to keep talking about who committed treason, then at least be honest. There's more than just the Bush administration deserving to be hanged.

We are just talking semantics I think.

However the reason he needed a gun to induce you is that he is making you commit a crime. It IS a crime to take a gun and rob.... It is a Crime BEFORE anyone commits it. The act is the crime, not the person, the person either commits or does not commit the crime. But the law DOES recognize "Mitigating circumstance" Which is to say, you committed the crime, but not entirely of your own free will.

This would save you. However go a step further and say they wanted you to take human life... The crime is murder and we don't back off that so fast even where there is considerable force applied...
