Rackmounted components have always looked kewl. Anyone know if it's possible to by a 19" rackmount "frame" that's intended for stereo and other more "consumer" oriented gear, and then use it for PC stuff? The prices for 1U and 3U boxes that accept PC components locally available are beyond ridiculous. As to cooling, the built-in fannage in rackmount boxes that I've seen is...well, it might as well not even be there. Perhaps the space constraints make it very difficult to accommodate REAL fans? Can a convincing argument be made for using rackmount form factor if space constraints don't mandate it? Leaving vanity out of the argument.

Well, first off- this is a 5u rackmount- holding (1) 120mm front input, the (2) 80mm ones infront of the hotswappable hardrives, (2) 120mm infront of the processors , (2) 80 mm outputs, and (2) 92mm redundant p.s. fans- The other problem is that my rack is short in the server fits- but nothing can plug in to ittttt!!!!!!!!
