well gents ive finally got around to taking one of the radiators out of the loop, mostly to make the case less cluttered and cause i also cleaned out the entire cooling system shes running a little cooler probably due to the cleaning but i still think its within exaptable limits considering im in the warm garage, system reading 28c is really close to ambiant but shes giving me a CPU temp of 49c idle @ 1.95Vcore and 55c loaded w/ FAH

wow I just read this thread, was there even a computer to go with all that cooling in there?! This some nice fabrication work you got goin there! I'm sure if you tinker with all this enough you're going to have a very well cooled box! keep up the good work!

no not really, this is just a fun overkill, my intentions were to use a pelt system but i kinda got stalled. i havent even got around to put/getting a window in.

i love summer, not really, it makes the garage were my computer is hot ass hell, and its only to get hotter so i think im going back to two rad's and i need to fix the small leak were they new fitting i bought connects to the pump, nothing a little teflon tape cant fix

but current temp ambiant temp/ outside temp is 31c w/ 57%humidity which is about 34c heat index but considering that i feel like the single Thermochill 120.3 radiator is keeping up quite well with the heat,

@ 1.95vcore
cpu 59c load 51c idle
sys 35c load 33c idle

load @ 1.90vcore
cpu 57c load 50c idle
sys 35c load 33c idle

soon as i stick the innovatek back in i'll post a comparing temp and i may install a NB WB that im ghetto rigging

The heat index only affects systems that use evaporative cooling, so relative humidity is irrelevant (relatively) to your system.

Is that relevant?

Is the irrelivance of relevant humidity relevant to air cooling?

I would think moisture would provide additional insulation on a dust-laden fan.

Only if it condenses out of the air onto the surface. The reason people feel warm when the humidity is up is due to the fact that our bodies use evaporative cooling, which works best in a dry environment. I would actually suspect that moderately humid air would be able to carry slightly more heat than dry air at the same temperature, due to the increased specific heat capacity and thermal transfer characteristics of the water vapor as opposed to just plain air.

To be honest I now in two minds on this one! Further investigation needed...

Certainly, the CPU heat would dry the air which enters the case. This evaporative effect could help with cooling. I think you're probably right Gizmo.

this topic come up before and your right the actual indexs doesnt have as much effect as the actual humidity, BUT wouldnt the humidity have the effect of not being able to absorb as much heat if its already close to its thermal copasity??? wheres Aedin when you need a smart answer??? well i didnt finish putting every thing back to gether like i wanted, my buddy need help working on his car, and cause im rethinking the placement of the pump some of the components and welcome to AOA kels, nice to see another person from tx.

wet air would make the transfer of heat more difficult as the air molecules would have less space to expand in the confined area of the case, as the area a gas can occupy relates directly to the amt of heat it can hold...uh i think...anyway, the important thing is not the conductivity properties of the air, but the higher thermal capacity with less water present. the heat we feel in humid air is because moisture cannot leave the surface of our skin..taking the heat with it. the heat is in us, not the mooisture that evaporates.
