my case

ok i have cut the hole in my case big enough for my windows kit.. was a rubber one.. but its too big! whats sould i do.. i followed the instructions.. i was thinking rivit a new piece of perspex to the metal?

Ok, let me understand you. You bought a window kit. Then you cut your hole in the side of the case. But the hole is too big and the window doesn't fit?

If you did a good job cutting the hole and the edges are straight then you can do a few things. You can look for larger weather striping, or you and forgo the rubber all together and get a larger piece of perspec and use a little silicone and rivit it to the case, or get a biger window kit.

yes you got it right.. i followed the instructions just hot they said so i dont know why this happened.. i thinik ill buy a bigger sheet of perspex.. i think a friend of mine has sheets of it.. might have to phone him ,

If you are going to be getting some perspex and plan on drilling it be aware that a wood or steel bits may cause splitting.

ok heres a coupl more, taken tonight... all the pain has decided to chip off the smooth plastic :| isnt good, what do you reccomend i do, im going to re-paint it, i was thinking about doing the insides red??? and maybe the drive bays red too?? is it worth buying a can of laqure (or however you spell it) to stop the paint chipping?

Rustoleum makes a line of spray paints designed to bond with plastic that you might want to look at. Other than that, I would recommend lightly sanding the plastic to rough it up before you paint.

Bear in mind, though, that my suggestions are based on very little hard data. LOL

(In other words, I don't really know what I'm talking about)

try using a steel drill bit, but heat it up before you drill. Start small then use a bigger bit. Don't heat up the bit too much, as it'll just melt the plastic and you'll end up with burnt holes!
